Escapes without leaving Dubai.

Some of us have to spend the Summer in Dubai due to work or other commitments, so I decided to create a little guide of cool places that will make you feel like you’re on a holiday…

The Spa: Spa Cordon, Dubai

I have never heard of Spa Cordon before, and recently headed out there for a massage treatment. Located in the luxurious Sky Gardens building in front of La Petite Maison, this was one hidden gem. Super private, and empty – it was a great change to the busy non hotel spas. As soon as I entered the spa, I was greeted by the lovely staff, and was welcomed with a chilled apple drink and towel, and was shown around for a tour. Everything within the spa was from the Philippines – everything from the uniforms, furniture and interiors – power to the Philippines!  Known for their bespoke oil bar where you pick a base essential oil like Grapeseed, almond or sesame oil followed by an oil or a combination to add on – I went with the almond oil and neroli. I loved the addition, and loved how you suddenly feel like you’ve created your bespoke massage. I didn’t get the chance to use their great facilities as I had to rush to a press luck, but made sure to check them out -The whirlpool, steam and sauna were compact but modern, clean and cosy. I was then taken by my lovely therapist, Suni to my massage room which looked like a cabin in a resort (note why this is in the staycation feature!). The Vitality massage was 60 minutes long, and was a mix in between deep tissue and sport. Post massage, I was led to the relaxation room with a menu choice of fruits, vegetables or popsicles with herbal tea. Off I left this retreat like spa, and on to the real world. The massage: Pillow talk at Sensasia spa, Dubai.

Sensasia spas are definitely one of my favorites in Dubai, and I recently stopped by for their new treatment, the Pillow talk massage. Great if you have Insomnia, or just need a super relaxing massage to encourage better sleep. Upon arriving, I was greeted by my therapist – Kathy and was taken straight to the changing rooms, and off to my treatment room. Love how Sensasia is super quick – in and out – and the relaxing lounge & that Ginger tea always feels like a treat. The treatment was 60 mins, and started off with a Lavender foot soak, followed by the massage on a heated bed, a thick blanket and a fluffed up pillow (felt like a bed at home.) Kathy used slow chinese techniques, with sweet almond and lavender oil – starting with a focus on the back side moving over to the front. Post Pillow talk, I was then allowed to rest on the comfortable bed, and then asked to make my way to the relaxing lounge. Unfortunately, I didn’t know the other drink option was a cacao hot chocolate and marshmallows, and went with the classic Ginger tea (which is really good too.) I highly recommend Pillow talk, and will definitely be back when I need to escape from a sleep depriving schedule.

The Face: Kaya Organic face therapy at Kaya Skin Clinic, Dubai

As much as I love great facials for the skin, I also make sure I can pop in for one relaxing one during the month. I’ve been hearing about the signature Organic Kaya facial for some time, and finally popped in for an appointment (it is quite difficult getting an appointment here, so book in advance!) The ladies here are super sweet, and was asked to wait in the waiting room for two minutes before being directed to my room by therapist, Pearl (who I had the Aqua Facial with the last time I was there.) The treatment is 90 minutes, using only 100% organic and natural products. The treatment begins with Cleansing, toning, and a radiant serum application. This goes on to a blissful 20 minute facial massage (I love those…!), and ends with a mask which is then left on the skin to get absorbed. You do come out with quite an oily face, but it’s one of those facials that you can wash your face within 2 hours, apply make up and off you go out. I was definitely glowing, and felt completely relaxed but ended up with a little break out (which isn’t very fun.) I’d definitely recommend this as a great relaxing facial. Age: Sodashi Samadara Age-defying facial

I recently tried Australian luxury beauty brand, Sodashi’s signature treatment – The Samadara Facial at Talise Mina Salam. This had to join my list of Escapes without leaving Dubai, as the Talise spa is just breathtaking. Once I entered the spa, and moved to the treatment room, I felt like I was on an island away from home. The treatment is a hydrating and nourishing treatment to increase firmness and restores the skin’s glow. The treatment was two hours ago (longest facial I’ve done!) and is designed to reawaken the skin’s natural healing energies. It includes a rose crystal massage, followed by a clay mask, in order for the skin to absorb the Samadara Age Defying creme. Whilst the heating clay mask was on my face, the session included a relaxing getaway, which included a hand and foot massage. For more on Sodashi, click here

My Beauty Routine by Louise Nichol – Editor-in-chief, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.

This week, Myfashdiary.com speaks to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Editor-in-Chief & glowing new mother, Louise Nichols about her beauty routine, where she also shares some tips for pregnant women, and new mothers.

-Beauty products I swear by

My bath is lined with empty pots of Dior Prestige and Capture Totale face creams that I can’t bear to throw away, so gorgeous is the packaging. Chanel’s Sublimage is also a special treat that I adore. I invest in face creams and then slather my body in Nivea Smooth Sensation moisturiser.

My beauty secret is the eyelash growth treatment Latisse from Dubai’s Vivandi Hair Spa (although I have also heard good things about Revitalash from Maria Dowling salon), and for extra-special occasions I’ll apply Mac’s half lashes to the outer corners of my eyes.

-What’s in my make up bag

Following the birth of my daughter Leo six months ago I have had to downsize my beauty arsenal as time is of the essence. I am now also a pro at putting my face on one-handed with Leo on my hip (however as she gets more wriggly it’s only a matter of time before she’s accidentally on the receiving end of a mascara wand).

My skin is definitely more crepey and tired-looking since having a baby, so foundation is a must. For off-duty days and during the summer heat I like Giorgio Armani’s Maestro Foundation or Chanel’s Vitalumière Aqua, which are both feather-light. For a bit more coverage I generally revert to Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which I have used since its launch in 2000. I often with flirt with other foundations but this is the one I come back to time and time again.

I struggle to find concealers that don’t cake, while still covering my epic dark circles. Lancôme’s Teint Miracle Instant Retouch pen is the best compromise.

When I travel I buy Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, and I swear by Shiseido’s Nourishing Mascara Base (at Bloomingdale’s Dubai), topped off with either Chanel or Dior’s latest mascara.

Now it’s no longer available in Dubai, I order Nars’ Orgasm blush from Asos.com – it’s an essential. If I have an extra 30 seconds I might attempt some contouring using the fantastic Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow powders. I keep Mac’s Crayon Khôl in ‘Teddy’ in my bag to smudge on if I have to go out for a meeting.

I love lipstick; on other people. I find it too uncomfortable. My mum sends me pots of Carmex from the UK, which I am addicted to. For nights out I use Dior Addict Lip Glow, a universal shade which is really like wearing a lip balm with a smidge of added colour.

-Vitamin supplements

Solgar’s prenatal nutrients kept me free from morning sickness during my pregnancy and I still take them now while breastfeeding. For milk production I rely on Fenugreek, which is especially important now I am back at work and pumping. On the advice of my trainer, Dan Harrison from Evolve, I take insane amounts of Omega 3 as well as a pipette-full of liquid Vitamin D3 and, before bed, Chelated Magnesium. In a bid to restore my post-partum hair I also take Philip Kingsley’s PK4 Hair capsules.

-Perfect detox juice mix

My go-to on all things dietary is Dubai-based trainer Marlene Bunston. She persuaded me to commit to a daily green smoothie containing kale, spinach, celery, avocado, broccoli, lemon juice, apple, fresh ginger, frozen banana, pineapple, mango, cinnamon, chia seeds, nutmeg and coconut oil. It’s nicer than it sounds.

-Favorite healthy dish

My sweet tooth is my undoing so I am always looking for ways to make healthier versions of cookies and cakes by using coconut oil and stripping out the sugar and processed flour. My guru is Gwyneth Paltrow and her new cookbook, It’s All Good. The five-spice and sweet potato muffins and her chocolate and almond cupcakes are insanely good. When it’s not puréeing Leo’s baby food, my Vitamix is put to good use making nut butters and almond milk. If I’m craving comfort food I’ll whip up custard using eggs, homemade almond milk and a nutmeg topping for a protein-packed pudding.

-Facialist/Dermatologist

I have to confess I am too lazy for facials and body treatments; I’d rather read a book. My face won’t thank me, but hopefully my mind will.

-Fitness routine

The first three months after giving birth in October last year consisted of round-the-clock feeding (both my daughter and me!). I don’t think I ate one proper meal during that time but relied on grabbing biscuits and snacks. Once my daughter Leo started settling into more of a routine at three-months-old I realised I needed to take myself in hand. I started training again with Dan Harrison at Evolve gym in Jumeirah. Dan trained me during my pregnancy so it was fairly easy to resurrect my fitness levels, but a year of unfettered cake eating left my body fat off the chart. Dan uses CrossFit techniques, which I supplement with 8K runs, and after three months I dropped 7kgs. Now I am back at work full time, there’s not much chance for training, but I try and squeeze in weekend sessions with my husband’s trainer, Marlene Bunston, at the gym in our complex. I’m not back to where I was pre-pregnancy, but by the time Leo is nine-months hopefully I’ll have made it. ‘Nine months on, nine months off’ is my mantra.

-Hair Miracle

I have very fine, straight hair and the merest hint of styling product makes it greasy, lank and sticky. I rely on the Kérastase Resistance and my amazing colourist Maria Dowling. She’s my hair miracle!

-Key to feeling beautiful?

When my daughter reaches out to touch my face – even when I’ve got greasy hair, no make-up and am wearing an old tracksuit covered in dribble – it makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.

BEAUTY BUZZ: May 2013

Hair Mist: Chanel eau tendre
There are only a few hair mists that I swear by… I’m always on the go, so I love a refresher spritz. If I had a favorite from Chanel’s eau tendre bottles, it would have to be Chance. One of my favorite fragrances, the bottle is small enough to be thrown into my bag, and the scent is subtle enough to also spray your own perfume.

Eyeshadow: Bobbi Brown cream shadow in Antique Gold
I was against cream eyeshadows till I was introduced to this gorgeous one from Bobbi Brown. It comes in the same packaging and glass palette as the gel liner that I can’t live without. The eyeshadow is easy to blend and doesn’t feel too creamy, which is nice. I’ve never seen a more interesting color than this – between a gold, slate, olive. beautiful.

Lips: Dior lipstick in Lucky
When I want to change up from a nude lip, I love a bright pink lip. When I find a great pink lip, I add it to my beauty collection and I’m currently in love with the Lucky shade by Dior Beauty – super moisturizing too!

BB cream: 3Lab
Introducing my brand new favorite BB cream by 3lab! Light, yet great coverage (I love the roller that it comes with that spreads out the bb cream as well as penetrates it within the skin.) it smells good, gives a dewy glow finish and of course treats lines whilst doing all of that. :)

Lipcare: Comfort Zone sacred nature bio-certified lipstick
I have a lipbalm in every single bag as my lips get dry quickly due to the weather, the AC in Dubai, and working out every day. I love this lip balm by Comfort Zone, which is made with buriti oil and Karité butter – super nourishing and has a subtle buttery scent.

Serum: Dermalogica Multivitamin Power serum
I love me some great serum. Dermalogica have just launched their day serum, which I currently love. It featured Vitamin A, C, E, and F and great for anti aging. Not to mention the refreshing fruity smell that always gives me a wake me up in the morning.

Make up remover: Jane Iredale Magic Mitt
When I read about this product, it sounded like an actual magic mitt that will probably not even work. I wore the mitt, dipped it in warm water and applied it on my face after having a ton of make up at an awards ceremony. In one swish, it removed my eyeshadow, bronzer, foundation, mascara. Perfect for traveling too – TOP recommendation!

Illuminator: Lancome Eclat Miracle
I recently discovered this radiance booster serum that I am OBSESSED with. All I do is mix it with my foundation and my foundation gets an illuminating boost for a dewy, radiant finish. PS make sure to mix it before to get a great pigment.

Primer: Clarins Instant smooth perfecting touch
I recently started using this creamy primer – which works as a skincare and make up products. It makes my skin look smooth – Non greasy, dewy and holds my make up. Primer winner.

Fragrance: Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit
I couldn’t wait till Jo Malone’s Sugar and Spice collection came out – I’ve been hearing so much about it and due to the fact that I have such a sweet tooth, it was a match made in heaven. I was even told they work so well layered – I’ve been throwing this small bottle into my handbag and the perfect sweet spritz, without being too overwhelming.

Body: Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner
Scent isn’t exactly my favorite because I don’t love roses but that is just a personal thing. If you love roses, this will become your favorite body product! If this was in Vanilla/almond etc, this would be a miracle product for me. It makes my skin super soft, and feels like butter. I love applying it before going to bed for baby soft skin.. It includes great ingredients like Argan Oil, Cocoa butter, brazil nut oil, almond oil and shea butter.

Facial: La Mer Whitening facial
In between facials, I like to apply masks to maintain my skin. I’ve never used La Mer’s facials and recently tried out the whitening one. After applying a primer on the skin, there is a lower and upper mask for the face.  In just 8 mins, the skin is  super brightened and hydrated.

Foundation: Clinique Superbalanced makeup
I’m a huge fan of Clinique foundations – especially the oil free ones. They are always super light and the coverage is absolutely amazing. This liquid foundation does just that – It gives my skin a dewy finish, and one I like to wear from day to night.

Body Scrub: Neom Organic Body Scrub
There’s one Body scrub I always swear by… by REN skincare. As it’s one of the best on the market, my standards are quite high. I was recently introduced to this one by Luxury Organic beauty brand, NEOM & it definitely joins my rank of top scrubs. Made of an organic sugar base, it’s mixed with oils such s safflower and jojoba with Vitamin E, and a scent of Lavender, Jasmine and Brazilian Rosewood.) Makes my skin super soft, whilst removing all the dead skin. As a fan of body oils, I love applying the organic oil after the shower for the added moisture.

Cleanser: Bliss Clog dissolving cleansing milk
I’m a little obsessed with this product at the moment. I love a dual function too – This works perfectly on a cotton pad as a cleanser or face wash, and also works as a 5 minute enzymic mask (for exfoliating, so only use as mask once a week). It also leaves a light layer for moisture and protection. The grapeseed and bitter orange scent gives my skin a fresh feel too.

Bronzer: Bourjois Paris Maxi Delight Bronzer
I live for Bronzers – 3 make up essentials for a day look? BB cream, bronzer and eyeliner so I’m always on the look out for great bronzers that have the most flattering bronze shade for my skin, applies on the skin easily, and weirdly – One that smells good. Not only is this super affordable, and at high street price – it smells like the summer, hawaii, coconut… and I love the side – great to use with a large brush for an all over bronzed look.

Hair Oil: Davines Oi Oil
As I mentioned previously, dual products are lifesavers. I’m also a fan of great luxury oils for the body, hair and face. Introducing one of my favorite hair oils by natural brand, Davines. A great finishing styling oil and treatment oil for the hair. It adds shine, and gives my hair a subtle fresh scent. The product, which has a key ingredient of Roucou oil doesn’t grease up the hair too.

French Range: Hervé Hérau
Colette always have a great range of niche beauty products that I love and one of my favorites would have to be this brand. Not only is the white packaging super clean and chic… the products are organic. I love the cream gel, which has a lovely scent of rosemary to hydrate my skin followed by their water mist right over, which fights free radicals. Make sure to add the brand to your shopping list when you’re next in town.
www.herveherau.com

Multi use: Figs and Rouge Natural Balm
I recently tried out Figs & Rouge, which reportedly is Emma Watson’s favorite beauty product. I love multi use products, and this one is a gem. Smells of Vanilla (I love Vanilla…), and can be used on the lips, face, hand, and body balm. I love it as a lip balm as it smells great, and gives my lips the heavy moisture it needs, but perfect for carrying around in the bag – especially with Dubai’s humid weather. I forgot to mention, the tins are quite retro, which make it quite chic to carry in those handbags.

Tinted moisturizer: Laura Mercier
Since the birth of BB creams, I never wear foundation during the day and all about lightweight coverage. Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer has been something I’ve always heard about but never tried and recently got myself to try it out. A lighter coverage than my bb creams, yet still has SPF and moisturizes the face, and gives off a radiance glow. The brand is available at Harvey Nichols, Dubai.

Concealer: Cle de Peau Beaute concealer
Can I just mention I rarely find great concealers? I’ve been hearing about this for some time now – a favorite among make up artists and have been meaning to try it out. Very easy to use – I just apply it under my eyes straight from the stick, and blend it with a few swipes using a concealer brush. The coverage is great, the creamy texture hydrates the under eye area, it gives off a smooth texture, and brightens the area. I’ve never seen anything like it, highly recommended.

Eyeliner: L’oreal Color riche Le Kajal
My two make up essentials are bronzers & eye liners. When looking for an eyeliner, I like a dark black that glides on easily without having to run the eyeliner several times as my signature eye is a smokey one. I love this new one by l’oreal – not only is it amazing – glides on easily, very black, and gives off an intense eye look – it’s also a drug store buy.

Tea Time with Jo Malone.

I was recently invited for tea and macarons with the Jo Malone’s London team to celebrate the launch of Jo Malone’s Saffron fragrance. Jo Malone is a brand that I have grown to love after understanding more about the background, and appreciating the brand, and the power of scent. I recently sat down with the team to really learn more about the intense range, the choice of including oud in their scents, and how to make sure our scents last all day long.

A little background on the Saffron scent… however you must drop by to one of the stores to check it out (my favorites are in Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates). The notes of the fragrance includes Incense, Saffron and Blond Wood – a great layering base. Here is how my chat with Celine Roux, Product development director and Debbie Wild, Lifestyle director went…

The ladies were telling me they felt there was a need for new fragrances around precious ingredients, that had more strength and more masculine. “We were interested in Oud, so we decided to incorporate it into a range called the Intense range. We didn’t want it to be too heavy, so we mixed our first oud fragrance in 2005 with Bergamote. The Oud with a twist… Modern & contemporary.”

How was it creating the Saffron Fragrance?

It was a challenge creating the Saffron fragrance. Saffron can be seen as foody, so we had to be careful that the fragrance is sophisticated, yet still smell the Saffron. We mixed with Iris, Pink Pepper, which gives a great layer finish. This is the 7th fragrance in the Intense range.

How regular do you introduce a fragrance?

Once a year.

What tip would you give on wearing a fragrance?

The brand, Jo Malone London is all about layering and tailoring your fragrance. We like the Saffron mixed with Oud & Bergamote – my husband has started wearing that mix, so I have to change my combination now…

How is the Middle East thought of when creating a new fragrance?

The Middle East is really at the core. We come down 2-3 times a year, work with perfumers here, bring our stylists, do mini focus groups with our customers over tea. We like to listen to them… The Middle East are all about layering their fragrances too.

How does a new scent get developed?

It really starts from a moment or an ingredient. In this case, it was all about the intensity of Saffron – the color, the scent. Saffron is just as important as a rose or Oud.

How do we get our fragrance lasting all day?

This is the perfect question for us… Start with a body cream – our creams are really scented – high percentage of scent. Apply that first and then apply your fragrance – either the same scent, or a different one to achieve your tailored mix. Fragrance lasts longer when your skin is hydrated.

This week, we speak to Shira Suveyke, the Vice President of Global Buying at TheOutnet.com about beauty, health, and her love for Natura Bisse.

-Beauty products I swear by

Crème de la Mer and Natura Bisse Glyco Extreme Peel.

-What’s in my make up bag

A lot! I like choice, but some of my favorite products are Nars Velvet lip pencils, By Terry blush, Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss, Omorovicza BB cream, COVERGIRL LashBlast mascara, and Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur  Concealer.

-Vitamin supplements

I try to eat a well-balanced diet to get my nutrients and I take a daily Vitamin D supplement. I also take plenty of Airborne vitamins before, during and after traveling to pump up my immune system.

-Perfect detox juice mix

I’m not much of a detoxer, but I do adore the pressed juices at NYC’s abc Kitchen. It’s the perfect compliment to their delicious asparagus salad.

-Favorite healthy dish

Dark chocolate has antioxidants, right?!

-Facialist/Dermatologist

I get facials from the Shibui Spa at The Greenwich Hotel in NYC every month. They use all Natura Bissé products. I indulge after the treatments and use their tranquil indoor spa and pool – it’s so relaxing and makes me forget that I am in the middle of the bustling city!

-Fitness routine

I choose between Exhale: Core Fusion and restorative yoga on Sunday nights – either activity is the perfect way to get ready for the working week ahead.

-Skin/Body treatments

Leonor Greyl Huile de Magnolia oil is the ultimate luxury and makes me feel like I’m on holiday.

-Hair Miracle

Oribe hair products are perfect for daily care. I use Kérastase Nutritive Oleo-Fusion hair treatment once a month for shine and elasticity.

-Hair Botox at Tips and Toes Salon

A favorite among the stars after I googled it (Everyone from Kate Hudson to Jessica Biel get it done), but I do remember being confused after hearing ‘Hair Botox’ is a hair treatment women have been getting done. I’ve been reading about Hair Botox for a few months now and got myself to try it out. The product that can only be done once every 2 months helps damaged hairs, as well as smoothes and gives added shine. As a Brazilian blowout devotee, this definitely gave me similar results, without the intense chemicals used – the product by L’Oreal didn’t burn my eyes at all, nor was the smell strong. My hairdresser, Mona applied the treatment without gloves, which proved the product wasn’t irritant. The treatment started off with a wash using the Hair Botox range, followed by the treatment on the hair for around 25 minutes – my hair is quite dark, so it stayed on for the maximum. A few minutes before it was ready to be rinsed out, Mona gave me an amazing head massage and this was the Scalp exfoliator – which is another job of the treatment. Once that was done, Mona washed my hair, and finished it off with a blow-dry and straightening it out to close up the cuticles. Upon seeing my hair post treatment, it was super soft and shiny but I was shocked to see my hair color (that took 4 hours to do at Salon Ink four weeks ago was all off, and this was due to the hairdresser not correctly informing me on the ‘side effects’ of this treatment.) Minus the fact that I was completely irritated, and the hairdresser’s response that ‘I can go and get it re colored in a few weeks’, my hair has been frizz free and smooth for over a week now.

I got the treatment done at Tips and toes, Al Barsha.

-Warm Lava Shell Massage at Sisters beauty Lounge

I love massages, love them. I feel the need to try every massage on earth. I recently heard that Sisters beauty lounge introduced the Warm Lava Shell Massage (I love how Sisters are constantly adding to their menu with the hottest treatments, and as I’ve never heard of it – I was intrigued.) I headed to their Dubai Mall branch, they pretty much have a spa within the lounge – perfectly located by the grand entrance of the mall. I was directed to the bar, and was met by my therapist, Jesusa to fill out a consultation form for the 60 minute treatment. I was then made my way into the massage therapy room. I love spas that are straight to business, as I like to go in, get the treatment, and leave – but again, that might not be for everyone. My therapist, Jesusa mentioned that I was in for a treatment due to the fact that I like firm massages, as they do have to start with a firm massage, before applying the hot Lava shells. Using Cowshed essential oils, I got a deep & firm massage on my back followed by the tiger striped clams on the back using a swedish massage technique (when they mix the shell with minerals, it causes a chemical reaction to heat up.) I was told to let my therapist know if it gets too hot at the beginning, however I enjoyed the heat on my tense muscles. It was also good to know that the massage is eco friendly, due to the fact that the shells from the South Pacific are 100% recyclable. For more details, click here

-Bootcamp for butts at Sensasia Spa

With the Summer already here, it’s all about giving your body a quick fix. One of my favorite spas, Sensasia have come out with Bootcamp for butts and Bootcamp for tums treatments using Mama Mio products. I went in to try the butts (as they focus on the thighs too!) The hour long treatment includes a rigorous massage on the thighs and butt using Shrink to fit and skin tight products to exfoliate, and firm the skin. Personally, I think exercise and a good diet make a good body, but slenderizing and body firming treatments do help with reducing cellulite and encouraging firmness of the skin.

PS when you get the treatment done, you get offered 10% off Right Bite. For more details, click here.

-De Stress Shiatsu at Nstyle

I’ve never had anything other than nails done at Nstyle and was quite impressed with my first one. My appointment was booked at the Dubai Mall branch, and once you go in, it looks like a spa. The treatment I went for was a dry massage, which I haven’t done before – I got the massage done wearing a robe. It was quite a deep massage with stretching. Super super relaxing, and I left with no oil and ready to get on with my day. Very convenient. The prices are very reasonable too – 280 AED for this one in specific.
For more details, click here.

-Saranaya at Sheraton Hotel, Dubai Creek

The Spa isn’t exactly one of my favorites, but the therapist – Saranaya, who is based there gives amazing, deep massages. Highly recommended after a long week.
Details here.

-Mary Anne at Sisters Beauty Lounge

An amazing masseuse – I’ve done 60 minute aromatherapy and head, neck and shoulder massages with her. Quite firm, and is amazing with breaking down my stiff knots. For booking details, click here.

-Reflexology and a Spa pedicure at Spa Cordon

Based in the DIFC area, this spa pedicure was like no other… it was All Natural. After being welcomed by the lovely women at the spa – I was taken to the nails room, which looks like a spa as well, and gave off a relaxing atmosphere. My lovely therapist, Gladis started with a breathing exercise followed by a mini shoulder and neck massage (a great addition to the treatment). They use organic nail polish brand, Zoya (which I used), but also have gelish and China Glaze (which you can rarely find in Dubai). A mask was applied on feet and a massage was given once that was set to seep through the skin, moving on to a mineral salt scrub and a massage. I got the reflexology done after the foot massage. The pressure was quite strong and firm, and definitely recommend Spa Cordon if you’re up for a great, all natural pedicure as a spa treatment rather than an in and out beauty one. For more details on Spa Cordon, click here

-Ni Kadek at Tips and Toes, Barsha

-Scrub up with a Natura Bisse Honey scrub at The Address Downtown
I love scrubs pre vacation and on a regular basis. I recently indulged in a 30 minute scrub treatment – The Organic honey scrub from Natura Bisse at The Address, Downtown Dubai – great for skin exfoliation and removing dead skin cells. The treatment starts off with the Honey scrub (that smells like pure honey), followed by a warm shower and then the Vitamin C cream to give your skin a refreshening pick me up. Both products are available to purchase from the brand, and within the spa. PS the view from the relaxation room is just unreal…

-Relax with a Balinese head massage at Dreamworks Spa
For a spa day, I like to visit a great spa with beautiful facilities, for a multi tasking day, I’d have my massage whilst getting my pedicure and doing some work… For a quick stop, I like coming in, getting a massage and leaving. I recently visited Dreamworks Spa for the first time – they have quite a few branches around town – little did I know they also had one at Spinneys Al Wasl road, but they do and it’s hidden away. One point for convenient location.  I was booked in for a 30 minute Balinese back massage and a Balinese head massage. The place is tiny, and in no way fancy but it’s clean and the masseuse (mine was Novy) was just amazing. I highly recommend the head massage – it almost felt better than a shoulder massage, and I tend to get stiff ones from working on a computer for too long.

-Delay ageing with Elemis’s Visible Brilliance Facial at De la Mer Day Spa
One of Elemis’s signature facials (I’m a great fan of Elemis) and their top anti ageing facial treatment. I recently headed to the lovely De La Mer Spa (they really are amazing, on Beach road closer to Burj Al Arab) for the Elemis Visible Brilliance Facial. If you’re looking for a facial to help delay anti ageing around the face and eyes, give your skin a wake me up boost within a relaxing treatment, this is for you. With micro-circulatory massage techniques, the skin is plumped and firmed to help restore the skin’s radiance. The treatment, which lasted for 90 minutes is recommended every four weeks is also great if you are looking for something that works on the eyes just as much as the face. This week, Holly ‘Hollywould’ Williams, who heads up communications at Symphony Style LLC in the UAE shares her beauty routine with myfashdiary.com.

-Beauty products I swear by…

I only use natural products and I’m a huge fan of French pharmacy lines like Bioderma and Avene and Australian skincare brands like Aesop and QV. Bioderma Crealine H20 cleanser every morning and night, QV moisturizing day cream with SPF 30 every morning, Avene Eye Contour Cream every night, Immediate Moisture Facial Hydrosol by Aesop on the beach and on planes, and Skinceuticals Serum 15 everyday under moisturizer.

-What’s in my make up bag:

I don’t wear a lot of make up, often, rather lazily, going without make up completely during the day. I favour a natural look with a red lip, or sometimes a false lash if I’m feeling extra fancy for a night out.

-Repechage Mineral & Vitamin Rich Complexion Perfection. Skincare and foundation in one. Unbelievable product.

-MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara – the best, I’ve tried them all!

-Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, essential and unbeatable

-Far too many red lipsticks, my favourites are Lady Danger and Russian Red by MAC.

-Lucas Papaw Ointment for lips, sunburn, eyes – everything! Natures answer to Vaseline.

-Sephora Blush Me Twice Bronzer & Blush Duo. Time saver.

-Laura Mercier Eyebrow Wax, essential as I am pretty much albino!

-Vitamin supplements you take

Omega 3 Supplements by Perricone MD & Echinacea around flu season

-Perfect detox juice mix

I love all kinds of juice. My favourites are the ones that usually turn other people off – ingredients like garlic, broccoli, spinach etc. The greener the better, go hard or go home!

-Favorite healthy dish

Hearty salads. I’m currently obsessed with this one I make that has quinoa, sweet potato, rocket, figs, low fat feta and thin fat-free beef or chicken. And I put lemon on everything. I start each morning with hot water and lemon, the best way to clean the system and get your metabolism going.

-Facialist/Dermatologist

I don’t really use one. I should probably start. I’m quite low key and low maintenance and I’ve always been quite lucky with my skin, I don’t really like the idea of people prodding around with it or layering on loads of different creams etc. I think the simpler the better to be honest.

-Fitness routine

To be completely honest, I’ve become quite lazy. I need to get back on the fitness wagon and back into the routine I had developed last year. I do enjoy long beach walks in the morning before picking up my coffee, such an absolute treat being British (no beach walks in the UK all year round! Brr!) – and it doesn’t feel like exercise. I am also so excited for Physique 57 to open in Dubai soon, my friend Camilla Skovgaard tells me great things and the lady responsible for bringing the concept to Dubai has a body to die for, there will be no excuses when Maryam launches her new studio soon.

-Skin/Body treatments you love

I’m a sucker for massages and reflexology. For massages I love the at-home service by Nailtastic (who do incredible nail art too), the massage involves stretching and its one of the best I’ve had in Dubai and I like that I can curl up in bed straight after. So amazing. For reflexology I think its best to find an authentic Chinese place, I went to one in Global Village recently and it was so cheap and second to none, there’s also a few good ones on the Plaza level in JBR where I live. Another treatment I love is the One & Only’s hammam, The Palace in Downtown also do a beautiful hammam treatment. At home I like to take a long hot bath and then cover myself in oil when still wet – either a lavendar oil, coconut oil or bio oil, such an easy and beneficial thing to do for your skin.

-Hair Miracle

I’ve recently started to do my hair at Sister’s Beauty Salon, my favourite salon in Dubai. Their washbasin treatments are incredible and I use Maje colours by Loreal, which are kinder to your hair than bleach and coupled with a toner, give the most beautiful blonde colour to my naturally fair hair. At home I always use leave in conditioners and coconut oil, I take good care of my hair.

-Key to feeling beautiful?

Sounds cheesy, but I really think doing things for others and trying to be the best person you can be. I always feel most beautiful when I have helped someone or been a good friend, sister or daughter. I’m an avid believer in beauty on the inside, and I am constantly trying to improve that – it’s the most important beauty to me.

Eyeshadow: Sephora eyeshadow palette in Primal Instincts
I tend to only use Urban Decay and Too faced for eyeshadow palettes but I’ve recently introduced this eyeshadow palette from Sephora into my beauty collection. I love the range of colors it has – I can get away with a day and a night smokey eye with those shades. They also blend in perfectly. Yay for Sephora!

Eyeliner: Chanel waterproof eyeliner in 100 santal
Perfect brown eyeliner, and stays on all night! Bring on the bronze smokey eye.

Serum: Clarins Double Serum
I was so excited for Clarins to relaunch one of their hero products, the Double Serum. I’m a huge fan of Clarins products, and everyone buzzes about this product. If there is one skincare item that makes a huge different to my skin – it’s the serum, also so great to delay anti aging. This is my favorite Serum of the moment, and I love how it’s a little more liquid than other serums I’ve loved – which makes it lighter on the skin, but still as effective. The product is a mix of 20 plant extracts and it works to boost collagen, fight wrinkles & fine lines, and restore your skin’s radiance.

Fragrance: Guerlain Idylle
I’m quite picky with fragrances, but I always use around 6 in one time – I get bored easily, so I like to mix around. This strong Jasmine fragrance is perfect for formal dinners and nights out. If you’re loving for a strong, sexy fragrance with a Jasmine base note, here it is.

Sunscreen: Skinceuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50
Minus the scent, this has to be one of my favorite sunscreens for a light finish. Mattifying, lightweight, and weightless is the perfect way to describe this sunscreen. The fluid spreads evenly, dries quickly, and doesn’t leave any residue. With a high SPF defense of 50, and doesn’t include any parabens – this is a Sunscreen winner.

Lips: Lush Popcorn scrub
I love lip scrubs, and have been using the one from Sara Happ for some time now. I recently came across this one from Lush in the most delicious scent – Popcorn, however smells more like vanilla and I’m addicted. I like scrubbing my lips once a week, and eating the express sugar. Made out of sugar and coconut oil, this is just the perfect lip treat.

Blush: DiorBlush Glowing color powder blush in 553
I’m always on the look out for a great pink blush to wear over my bronzer and this one wins it for me – I like how one side is matte and the other side is shimmery. The shade is the perfect rose pink too. Make sure to also check out DiorSkin Nude Tan Paradise Duo.

Range: Philosophy Full of Promise
I’m a huge fan of beauty brand, Philosophy (hope you got the chance to enter Myfashdiary’s competition!) I’ve been recently using their Full of promise range – specifically the dual action day and night serum, and the dual action moisturizer. I love a good dual product, especially when traveling. The serum is genius – a day and night end depending on when you’re applying the serum. The products are great with boosting your natural collagen, and delaying aging for a youthful complexion.

Hand cream: Sally Hansen Firming Hand cream with Shea butter
I make sure I always have a lip balm and hand cream right next to me whilst on the computer to keep hydrated. I’ve been recently using this one by Sally Hansen, the cream itself includes Shea butter, and has a subtle citrus scent. The size is probably not as handbag friendly, but definitely desk friendly (lasts you a while) and the shea is great with giving your hands the moisture it needs.

Mascara: Clinique high impact waterproof mascara
I usually mostly go for Clinque’s foundations and chubby sticks, but I recently tried out this great mascara from the brand and it’s great. I dislike waterproof mascaras as they smudge a lot – this is definitely unlike the others – stays on, doesn’t clunk up at all, works well for a smokey eye, and gives off thick lashes. If you’re looking for a great waterproof, look this way.

Cleanser: Caudalie Foaming Cleanser
Introducing one of my new favorite Skincare brands – Caudalie. Product sans Parabens and sulfates, environmentally friendly, and not tested on animals. This product is a great gentle cleanser – very light, with grape and chamomile extracts and yet removes the make up. I’ve been using this over make up on light make up rather than a full on night look as it’s quite gentle.

Balm: Shiffa healing balm
Shiffa is a brand I’m so proud of. Made in the UAE, organic, and great products created by Dr Lamees. I’ve been hearing about the healing balm, one of their award winning products and had to give it a try myself. The product includes Chamomile to soothe and stimulate, Indian neem to repair, rosemary to rejuvenate, and Arnica extract to restore skin. I like using it on my face, and elbows when in need of major hydration and repair.

Oil: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
My skin is usually quite dehydrated so I try to use an oil on my body at least once a day. I can only count a handful as my favorites and this one by Nuxe is definitely one. It can be used on the hair and face too, but I love the subtle summer scent it gives my body, and the hydration. 98% is natural ingredients, and sans preservatives. An essential.

Mask: Bliss Steep clean facial mask
I love Bliss products and find their masks perfect if I need a glow enhancer before a night out, and in between facials once a week. A deep pore cleansing mask – not only do you feel like your skin becomes squeaky clean, and your pores can breath – the mask brightens up the face and makes me achieve a natural glow.

Shampoo: Kerastase Elixir cleansing oil shampoo
I love Kerastase as a hair brand, and trust everything they make so there’s no surprise that Kerastase is even worth investing in a shampoo. I recently started using their cleansing oil shampoo, and love how the essential oils really hydrate your hair, yet not greasing it – it also smells super lovely. Great for feeding and nourishing the hair too.

Hair mist: L’occitane Aromachologie Volumizing Hair Mist
During the day, I love spritzing my hair with a refreshing hair mist, and keep the Chanel and Dior ones for night. The mist is lightweight, adds volume and includes five essential oils – Artemisia, Sweet orange, mint, pine and Rosemary.) Smells refreshing and gives a great hair boost.

Brown smokey eye: MAC cosmetics Bare my soul
I love a brown smokey eye for day as the black is heavy and makes your eyes appear smaller. This palette has a range of copper brown, with dark green colors. I’m a great fan of MAC’s pigments, yet the colors are not overwhelming, and the shimmer is subtle. The shadow also blends easily, a winning brown palette.

Foundation: Giorgio Armani Maestro
I’ve been hearing quite a bit on this foundation, and finally got the chance to check it out. The liquid is ultralight, with a water-like texture – the coverage is quite good for a day foundation, and gives a sheer finish. I would categorize it between a full fledged foundation and a bb/tinted moisturizer – but you can increase the coverage by layering, and gives off a radiant, natural finish.

So excited to share my latest project with Glambox. A few months ago, Glambox contacted me to curate my own box for Glambox. As a beauty fanatic, I was excited to curate a box filled with my favorite products for their ‘Celebrity Glambox’ project alongside Huda Kattan, Simone Heng, Zoya Sakr and Tamara Al Gabbani. My box includes Elemis’s Papaya Enzyme mask (which is amazing to treat your skin once a week) MAC lipsticks (Impassioned or blankety – my favorite bright and nude hues), Bio Oil (I live for this… and always use it after the shower.) and Bioderma Crealine (which I use to wipe off my make up – feels like water.)

-Shots for the hair… with Redken Chemistry hair shot treatment.

With how bad the water in Dubai is for our hair, it’s vital that we invest in 1-2 great hair treatments a month. I recently popped by to Sisters beauty lounge to try out their brand new Redken Chemistry hair shot treatment. An alternative to their Kerastase treatments at the salon, this is the less expensive option, and quicker than the other ones – great for girls on the go. After a quick consultation, the hairstylist finds out what shots your hair needs (I went for extreme protein, color extend, and all soft – to give my hair the hydration it needs, to smooth it out, and maintain the color shine) After getting my hair washed, my stylist, Farah applied the treatment on my scalp followed by the all soft mask on my hair with a head massage (love those…). She finished off the treatment with a PH balance spray to bring the ph levels of my hair back to it’s normal state. For more details, click here

-Relieve tired feet… with a Sports Pedicure at Sugar Urban Spa

If you’re someone like me that works out quite regularly, this is a beauty treatment for you. I recently headed to the Mall of the Emirates branch of Sugar Urban Spa (close to Sensasia express). Running and cycling can really take a toll on the feet, so a pedicure with a paraffin treatment is always great but this Sports pedicure is specifically perfect. The treatment started off with a gel to soften the feet, followed by a lemongrass scrub on the calves and feet and concluding with the regular pedicure whilst watching Gossip girl (they feature reruns of Gossip girl, and have headphones for you to use… If only they also had internet.) For nailpolish at Sugar Urban, they have a range of OPI and China Glaze.

-Get bronzed up…  with Sisters Beauty Lounge’s mousse tan.

I’ve had a few tanning disasters growing up, and that’s when I knew – the only self tan to do is the professional ones. I used to visit Sisters beauty lounge to get the Fake bake spray tans – which looked quite great but always dreaded the fan they use with the gun – but they are definitely one of the best in tan. Sisters Beauty Lounge recently introduced St Tropez (how hot does Kate Moss look in the new ads?!), and have two options – the spray tan or the manual application. As a person who doesn’t adore the spray fan, I decided to try the manual application – the tan is done in their treatments room. The therapist first cleanses your skin with a light exfoliation, followed by the application of the self tan mixed with a moisturizer. After the therapist applied the self tan, I was asked to wait for 5-10 minutes before having the excess wipes and able to leave. The first 8-9 hours, you look like you’ve got mud all over so I suggest planning a TV marathon that night – luckily, I was packing away for my morning flight. After taking a shower, I was ecstatic to see that the streaks vanished, and I looked bronze… already thinking about the next one. PS it lasted a whole good week. For more details, click here

This week, Designer Misha Nonoo of Nonoo NY shares her beauty essentials, her hair miracle and the supplements she takes.

Beauty products I swear by
Le Metier de Beaute concealer, Too Faced’s Lash Injection mascara is magic! I also love Jo Malone’s bath oils and Alterna Bamboo shampoo. Alterna is entirely holistic which really appeals to me.

What’s in my make up bag
I love Nars and consistently use their eye shadows. I cannot live without Bobbi Brown’s caviar eyeliner and eyebrow mascara – I use this everyday. I think Le Métier de Beaute has the best concealer and blush and Too Faced’s Lash Injection mascara goes everywhere with me.

Vitamin supplements I take
I take many including NAC, Milk Thistle, Omega 3 oils, Kelp, and a multi vitamin with added iron.

Perfect detox juice mix
I make a juice for breakfast everyday. Right now I am really into kale, celery, green apple, spinach and romaine lettuce. It sounds very healthy but tastes delicious and fresh.

Favorite healthy dish
My favorite healthy dish is kale and avocado salad with quinoa, whenever I’m on my best dietary behaviour.

Facialist/Dermatologist
I go to Ling Skin Care in NYC – their entire premise is about having the cleanest skin possible, which in turns help with anti-aging. It’s a simple and honest approach.

Fitness routine
I love Pilates but I don’t go often enough. My dog Thatcher keeps me in shape, we walk to work together every morning.

Skin/Body treatments you love
I love deep tissue massages as I hold all my stress in my neck and shoulders and I find it very helpful. I am also a big fan of acupuncture.

Hair Miracle -
a great blowout!

This week, I speak to Musician, Kate Nash about her beauty classics, her beauty gurus, and the art to feeling beautiful. Check out her brand new video above.

-Beauty products I swear by:

Ruby Woo red lipstick by MAC is extremely matte and I always wear it on stage. Any other lipstick will be on my forehead by the end of a show. And they have a gel eyeliner that is so difficult to get off I once bruised my eye! I only use an oil-based makeup remover with it these days, but I love the fact it doesn’t smudge. I use Dermalogica makeup remover and moisturiser, L’Oréal hairspray and Smashbox photo finish primer feels crazy soft on my skin.

-What’s in my make up bag:

Chanel Foundation. I used to have really bad skin so I only use really good quality products on my skin now. My Maybelline Great Lash mascara doubles up as a great bottle opener. I also have dandelion blusher from Benefit, Nars for bright colours, Benefit eyebrow kits and a variety of MAC lipsticks.

-Vitamin supplements:

I take multivitamins that I get from Whole Foods, Echinacea and Vitamin C. I use Berocca on the road and I take Evening Primrose Oil.

-My Perfect detox juice mix:

Green juices: Kale, spinach, celery, apple and ginger.

-My Favorite healthy dish:

In LA there’s this crazy vegan place called Cafe Gratitude and they do this amazing macrobiotic bowl that makes you feel amazingly good after eating it.

-Facialist/Dermatologist:

I’m always all over the place so I don’t really have a regular person. And being on tour can be so bad for your skin. I think getting plenty of sleep and drinking loads of water and having a detox after tour really helps. No drinking, lots of sleeping and good quality products on my skin, I always use Dermalogica products.

-My Fitness routine:

I have a personal trainer called Kate Burrows that I see whenever I can. She works in a fitness studio in Bethnal Green. I decided I wanted to get fitter last year and she works me really hard. I’m too lazy to go to a gym. I really need to be motivated by someone else so I love working with her. I feel better in my mind when I’m exercising. And then when I’m on tour I’m doing such a vigorous workout on stage for an hour and a half every night.

-Skin/Body treatments:

I bought a sea salt scrub when I went to Israel that is amazing, so I give myself a good scrub every morning. I love getting a really intense massage. It needs to be very firm otherwise I’m too ticklish. I like things like seaweed wraps where they wrap you up nice and tight.

-Hair Miracle:

Evan Huang, my hair guy, can do crazy things. He is a total genius.

-Key to feeling beautiful?

Confidence in oneself and self-acceptance. Putting yourself first and surrounding yourself with people that make you feel happy and loved and appreciated. Getting rid of anyone that doesn’t. Giving yourself a break, don’t be too hard on yourself. I feel like when I’m stressed I put loads of pressure on myself to be succeeding at everything and then I feel rubbish when I’m not. When I’m taking it day-by-day I feel a lot better. Someone that makes me laugh and someone who thinks I’m really funny makes me feel beautiful too.

Eye make up remover: Sephora 2 in 1 waterproof eye makeup remover gel
This eye make up remover is Refreshing and great for stubborn eye make up – it doesn’t oil up the skin either.

Serum: Skinceuticals Blemish + Age Defense
If you’re one that has problematic and Acne skin, this skinceuticals salicylic acid treatment is great. The acid reduces excess sebum production and Acne bacteria, which decongests clogged pores and helps prevent Acne and the visibility of fine lines. All you have to do is apply a few drops on your hand and spread across the skin, which will absorb quickly, giving your skin a light tingle.

Cleansing brush: Philips VisaPure
I’ve been hearing so much about Clairsonic and the rise of the cleansing devices that are taking the beauty industry by storm. I was recently introduced to the Philips VisaPure device that is an easy to use gentle cleanser where you just apply a tiny dollop of cleansing liquid, turn on and it gently deep cleanses your face removing make up, oil and dirt. The stimulation also gives your skin a squeeky clean glow – I am in love. Pricey, but worth it.

Antiaging range: Immupure
Dubbed as the next Creme de la Mer – introducing Anti Aging beauty range, Immupure. A range to smooth wrinkles, repairs and restores youth. The products are clinically tested, and include a range of B complex vitamins, minerals and amino acids. A high price range, but worth spending on your skincare – the range is available at top stores such as Henri Bendel’s in NYC, and Cult Beauty in the UK & is now available in the UAE! To shop the products,  contact Gulf Dermacare - +971 50 4509803

Bronzer: MAC Bronzing powder in Soft Sand
I’m a sucker for glowing and luminous skin. I’m all for finding great bronzers. I’m currently using MAC’s bronzing powder for a healthy, warm and radiant glow. Due to the high pigment in MAC make up, just make sure to tap your brush to remove the extra powder, for a subtle all over glow – I love the light shimmer within, which give off a beautiful reflection under the sun.

Mascara: L’Oreal Paris False Lash Wings Mascara
If there is one brand of Mascaras I grew up using, it would have to be L’Oreal. They have just come out with their False Lash Wings Mascara – Milla Jovovich was recently wearing it at the Cannes Film Festival. The first double winged brush ensures it catches every lash, as well as the other side to lift them for a glamour effect. The mascara costs 93AED.

Primer: Tom Ford illuminating primer
SPF? yes. Primer for flawless skin? yes. Illuminator for radiance? yes. After trying Laura Mercier’s radiant primer, I can’t live without one. With my LM tube nearly done, I went for this Tom Ford one, and I love it. Wish it was slightly dewier, but for some, a dry finish is the perfect kind of primer. Keeps my make up on all day, and I like the illuminating element.

Moisturizer: Clarins SPF Daily Energizer Lotion
I love this moisturizer for the mornings. Smells beautiful, a great pick me up, gives my skin the hydration it needs, and that fresh glow. oh, and it has SPF 15 within!

Face pads: Bliss Steep Clean mattifying toner pads
I love the ease of using pads so I was instantly intrigued to check this specific product out. The pad is soaked in a solution which includes Salicylic Acid (if you have oily or an oily combination, salicylic is amazing for drying that out.) I love how the pad also has a gentle exfoliating texture (which really is multi-fruit exfoliators that help minimize pores.) I love using it right after I’ve cleansed my skin, and before applying my serum and moisturizer – it gives my skin a mattified finish, removing the excess sebum and shine.

Perfume: Tola
I love niche fragrance brands and was recently introduced to a Middle Eastern one called ‘Tola’, a fragranced launched by Dhaher bin Dhaher. If you’re a fan of strong fragrances, this is definitely to check out. I personally liked the more modern scents. If you’re one like me, check out Misk Begum.

BB cream: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau BB cream
I only wear BB creams in the day – much lighter than foundation, and a great skin perfecter. I was eager to try out Guerlain’s take on one of my favorite day skin products. Not heavy, and not too light – which ends up giving great coverage, my skin was left dewy and hydrated, not to mention SPF 30! I have been using the Medium shade, which gives me a bronzed finish. A BB cream winner.

Nude lip: Chanel’s sentiment
My current favorite nude lip which has a slight gold and beige undertone. Glides over the lips and gives off a slight shine.

Night Fragrance: Chopard Enchanted
I’m currently using this Chopard fragrance for the night time or a dressier daytime outing. I’m in love with anything that has a high note of White floral, so it’s no surprise I loved this… It’s quite spicy, with a tint of musk and quite long lasting.

Range: L’occitane Jasmin & Bergamote
I love L’occitane and constantly discover great products that join my everyday essentials. As a Jasmin scent lover, I’m not surprised that I adored this range

Lipbalm: Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm
A cult product by Nuxe from their honey range, one balm is sold every 28 seconds. Going in to AC, and coming out to the humidity, my lips are constantly dry and need heavy moisture. The lip balm is made to restore chapped lips, nourish, repair, and protect… as well as a delicious honey scent and texture. A winning product for lips.

Face wipes: Korres pomegranate cleansing & make up removing wipes
There’s nothing I love more than great wipes after a long night out, and all I really want to do is jump into bed. I recently discovered Greek beauty brand, Korres and I’m in love. The cleansing wipes are best for oily/combination skin. The scent is super refreshing (make sure you like pomegranates.) Removes dirt, make up oil instantly and doesn’t include any kind of parabens or sulfates.

Legendary product: Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm
I couldn’t wait till I got my hands on this product. If there’s one skincare product I can’t live without, it’s Clarin’s Flash beauty balm so I couldn’t wait to try Elemis’s version of a Flash balm. The product is a 3 in 1 – a radiance booster, moisturizer, and primer – the texture is smooth, smells great and really gives my skin the pick me up it needs. Ingredients include Purple Orchid, Acai, Noni extract and Silk Mica.

Making my own jewelry: Arte Madrid

A few months ago, I was invited to Spanish jewelry store, Arte Madrid to create my own ring. It’s a service they do in their stores which I’ve never heard about. Mirdiff City centre is quite a distance away from where I live so I never head there, it’s hard to believe that they have everything including SNOG frozen yogurt from London.  As soon as I entered the store, I was welcomed by the lovely ladies from Arte, and headed to the VIP room to learn more about the background of the brand. I was then shown the vast styles of rings they have – everything from the old to new. I must say there were a ton of beautiful ones, I struggled to pick one favorite. After choosing my ring – I chose something interesting, eye catching, original, but still very wearable as I like to wear my rings on a daily basis… I was then shown the stones – the different kinds of stones to the different colors. I went for a lovely dark emerald one as it’s an easy color to wear, and goes with pretty much everything without being an obvious neutral. Once that was chosen, my chosen finger was measured, and the order was placed – easy. A few months later, my handcrafted ring arrived from Spain and was delivered to me – It looked better than I hoped. For more details, click here

Hair: EIDEAL Diamonsilk straightener
I haven’t been using straighteners for a number of years now so long gone my Ghd days, but I recently started using this one by EIDEAL when my hair is having a random wave day and it’s just amazing. The ceramic straightener is actually a professional hair product that is available to retail, turns on and heats up quickly, and goes up to  230C (10 seconds to go up to that). Don’t worry though… it has a time control. If you’re looking for a great straightener, here’s your tool. Check out the video above for more details. For more details, click here

Workout: David Kirsch’s ‘Smarter Squats’

I’m a huge fan of trainer to the Victoria’s Secret angels, David Kirsch. I am against bulking up so love a trainer who knows the right workouts to avoid putting on extra muscle. David suggests doing squats with your toes turned out, butt stuck out, lifting your heels to focus on the inner thighs and glutes – also a great way to exercise whilst traveling as you don’t need dumbbells!

Sushi: SushiArt by SushiShop

I’m so excited to share that SushiArt, a concept by SushiShop has been brought to Dubai – at DIFC. You might not know the actual brand, but would recognize the name due to collaborations with Kate Moss, and Lenny Kravitz to name a few. Their packaging is fab, and have come out with cool flavors such as cream cheese, tabbouleh, and Wagyu beef Sashimi. I recently tried the blackbox luxe, which was too chic to eat and the sushi was just delish. Highly recommended and perfect for a girls night in alongside a day of pampering.

Jewelry: Didi

As you can probably tell, I love my jewelry and my rings… I was recently introduced to Miami based (now London based) jewelry brand, Didi which is stocked at Liberty London. The ring I’ve been wearing is an iridescent blue stone ring that changes tones under light. Here’s a picture of my Didi ring. For more details, click here
